Canine High School's AKC FIT DOG Fitness Classes are focused on cardio, flexibility, balance/strength, independent limb control and mental fitness. And fun, of course! This is a great program designed to be force-free, positive reinforcement based learning. Dogs that need to channel high energy levels into a productive and fulfilling activity, but need to focus on injury prevention or recovery, benefit greatly from this low-impact activity. There's a warm up exercise, cardio component, two or more strength exercises and a cool down. All exercises are performed using lure & reward based training 1-on-1 with an AKC Approved FIT DOG Instructor. Each week we increase the skill and difficulty levels safely. Each week we teach our students different AKC FIT DOG Fitness skills and reinforce all the previously learned skills in order to build an arsenal strong enough to advance through each title certification. AKC FIT DOG Level 1 for puppies and new dogs. AKC FIT DOG Level 2 for intermediate and experienced dogs, and AKC FIT DOG Level 3 for our most experienced dogs. Parents receive video courses and tutorials to practice at home!
